I have been dreaming up this update since we moved in. I’ve always loved a foyer entryway that makes an impact, and that is my goal for ours. I quickly decided on a board and batten look after scouring Pinterest for hours.
This is what our foyer looked like when we moved in. It’s not bad, and actually so much better than some of the other houses we toured, but it’s really cookie cutter, and just like every other early 90’s builder-grade home in our neighborhood.
We’ve done some updates already, and I call this our “Phase 1” of the entryway update. I shared more about this update in this blog post, but the first big change had to be the stairs themselves. We replaced the handrails, newel posts and balusters and removed the runner. Then we sanded and restained the stairs to match the floors in the rest of our house. This update has already totally changed the feel of our house!
Now that you’re up to date on what’s been done so far, here is our inspiration for the next phase of the update!
I am so excited to share how it turns out!
