In our 2.5 years of living in this house, I have done some sort of updating in almost every room. Aside from a new floor, which we HAD to replace due to a flood two weeks after we moved in, we have done nothing to our gym except pack in new equipment.
My biggest issue with the room was the GREEN walls. To be fair, green is my favorite color… Just not this green and not in this room. I have had my heart set on a moody home gym for as long as I can remember so last week, Nick and I decided we were going to just bite the bullet and finally paint the walls.
We (I) decided on Behr’s Cracked Pepper and jumped right in and bought 2 gallons of paint without swatching on the walls. Normally, this is NOT recommended, and you should definitely swatch a few paint colors before actually deciding on one. I recently saw Olivia Rink’s update of her home gym and loved the color so I just jumped right in! Plus, at the end of the day, this is just a room in our basement that not many people see and I can always repaint if I hate it. I didn’t hate it 🙂
After the kids were in bed, we got to work, and I love the result! It is amazing what a little bit of paint can do! I already feel much more inspired to be in the room and want to get back into a good routine.
